EDWIN’S FINAL BEETHOVEN

sig2-450x450

Edwin Outwater, Conductor
Bénédicte Lauzière, Violin

Beethoven: Symphony No. 2 in D major
Korngold: Violin Concerto in D major
Liszt: Hungarian Rhapsody No. 2

Edwin Outwater’s ten-year journey through all nine Beethoven symphonies with the KWS concludes with the first he ever conducted and one very dear to his heart, Symphony No. 2. Korngold, equally known for his lush and romantic orchestral music and film scores, is in the spotlight as Concertmaster Bénédicte Lauzière plays his gorgeous Violin Concerto. Rounding out the program are the familiar melodies and ecstasies of Liszt’s Second Hungarian Rhapsody; the KWS plays the spectacular orchestral version.
