Brian Dickinson has been a fixture on the Canadian jazz scene for over thirty-five years. He has performed internationally with artists including Lee Konitz, Jerry Bergonzi, Michael and Randy Brecker, Pat LaBarbera, Kirk MacDonald, Kenny Wheeler and John Abercrombie.
He is a multiple Juno award winner with two recent nominations for his recordings, “Fishs Eddy”, a trio offering featuring the bass work of George Mraz and “The Rhythm Method”, a quintet recording. His most recent recording is, “Music For Jazz Orchestra” (October 2017), a recording of original music for big band featuring some of Canada’s best, including: Kelly Jefferson, Kevin Turcotte, John MacLeod, Luis Deniz, Perry White and Al Kay, among others. As a sideman, he has played on over eighty recordings.
This trio performance at “The Jazz Room” will be a tribute to the great Bill Evans, featuring his compositions and standards associated with this highly influential artist. Joining Brian will be Jim Vivian (bass) and Ethan Ardelli (drums).
